Exceeding FIA standards
These Joints, designed by Trackart, then engineered and refined though FEA Modelling, have been proven through destructive testing. Both meeting and exceeding FIA standards, these joints have been proven in multiple configurations and orientations. The first configuration is Tube / Tube(thread). Available to suit CDW350 tube -38mm x 2.6mm SDJ-17/10-1 -40mm x 2.0mm SDJ-17/08-1 -44mm x 2.6mm SDJ-17/09-1 Joint using & supplied with 2x M10x1.5 Grade 12.9 bolts The second configuration is Notch / Tube(Thread). Available to suit CDW350 tube -38mm x 2.6mm SDJ-17/10-2 -40mm x 2.0mm SDJ-17/08-2 -44mm x 2.6mm SDJ-17/09-2 Joint using & supplied with 2x M10x1.5 Grade 12.9 bolts The third configuration is Notch(Thread) / Tube. Available to suit CDW350 tube -38mm x 2.6mm SDJ-17/10-3 -40mm x 2.0mm SDJ-17/08-3 -44mm x 2.6mm SDJ-17/09-3 Joint using & supplied with 2x M10x1.5 Grade 12.9 bolts To meet FIA standards, the joint must pass 2700N 38mm joints in destructive testing Horizontal orientation reached 9500N Vertical orientation reached 12800N To meet FIA standards, the joint must pass 2700N 40mm joints in destructive testing Horizontal orientation reached 11000N Vertical orientation reached 14800N To meet FIA standards, the joint must pass 2700N 44mm joints in destructive testing Horizontal orientation reached 16000N Vertical orientation reached 21800N Refined in CAD and CNC machined. Interlocking design. Slide into straight cut tube with welding tapper The inside is machined out to lighten and help match the tube for welding strength. Utilizing 2x M10x1.5mm bolts, Grade 12.9 recessed bolt heads CAMS certified Laser etched Certification details Destructive testing taking place Each joint has been tested in multiple directions, measuring deflection v’s force applied. This is one of the test pieces, welded onto larger diameter solid steel bars so that the tested joint takes all the loads applied.
